Images for the new cricut cart Smiley Cards

Cricut recently shared some discontinued cartridges with us and even included an exclusive to Gypsy cart, Smiley Cards.  This means, however, that there is no handbook or even thumbnails to see what the final cuts will look like.  Robin and Tammy were nice enough to cut out ALL the images so we can see them.  Thank you!!!  Here are the results:

Ribbon Storage

Over on the Creative Cutters Cricut Club blog they are discussing ribbon storage.  Here are the three methods I use:

I mounted 3M hooks on the edges of my shelves and hung a dowel for my ribbons on spools.  I wrapped rubber bands around the ends of the dowel so it wouldn't fall off the hooks.  Next to that on the shelf is a green ribbon stuff bag by Your Pictured Memor EZ (I don't remember the name of the bag though).  That is for all of my designer ribbons. The last place I store ribbon is on a large 3M hook on the wall.  It is all of those big satiny ribbons and a few other wide ribbons.

Great site for learning about cricut/gypsy

She is amazing with her cricut and as a bonus she always posts the weekly coupons for the big craft stores.  I love her style and have been following her on her site, Obsessed with scrapbooking, and her other site, Everyday Cricut (formerly known as Christmas with the Cricut....and they are giving away a cricut Expression machine this week).  Today on her site she posted a giveaway of a gypsy and other awesome items. Last one... MPS Challenge #12 - "Critter-licious"

The challenge was to make a critter.  I designed a critter for a birthday card for my youngest.  He is turning 5 soon and he loves Mario games.  I used my cricut and gypsy and designed Toad.  It was all just ovals and circles.  The "?" block was genius...it was already like that on the Printing Press cart that I used for my least use cart project.  I am really excited about how this card turned out!

MPS Challenge #11 - "Colors of the Rainbow"

I acquired a bunch of ribbon scraps awhile back before I realized that I don't use ribbon very often.  It was a great way to get lots of color and texture in all colors of the rainbow.  I also used a glue rub on and glitter.  I love working with those rub ons!

MPS #10 - "May Day"

For May Day, it was a no brainer.  The so called challenge was to use flowers.  Hello...I put flowers on everything!  :D  So, here is a big paper clip for holding notes or receipts or whatever I decide.

MPS Challenge #9 - "Take Shape"

The idea here was to make a shaped card or project.  We have a little friend who's birthday is tomorrow, so that was my inspiration for this card:

MPS Challenge #8 - "Love My Color"

This challenge was to make a monochromatic project.  I ended up using a lot of blue in my projects today, so it's no wonder that I chose blue for this card.  Something new I tried was making a flower out of crepe paper streamer.  It was a perfect match to my paper, so how could I not give it a try!

MPS Challenge #7 - "Hey Dad!" (Dad, don't look!)

My Dad, like me, loves snacks and treats.  I made him this box and will fill it with some goodies to give him as an early father's day present when we go up to visit.  Did I say how much fun I have using my scoring board?  Well, I do.  It is so satisfying to fold a scored line.  Seriously!  :D  One thing I learned on this project was that Thickers ABC letters don't stick very well to glitter paper.  A little ATG did the trick, however!

MPS Challenge #6 - "Kids Craft, Too"

Being that I did these challenges while the kids were at school, I chose to do a project for a child, instead of with a child.  I recently purchased 8x8 albums but haven't made any pages that size yet.  So, this is my first page.  It is for my daughter's album:

MPS Challenge #5 - "Teacher Appreciation Days"

This is teacher appreciation week.  I thought the easiest was to show appreciation was a thank you card.  So, here is my card for the challenge.  (I made 3 more just like it for all the teachers.)

MPS Challenge #4 - "I Like You the Least"

This challenge was to use a cricut cartridge that I don't like or never use.  For me it was Printing Press (which I ended up using twice tonight!)  This is a vinyl cut for my white board.  I learned a valuable lesson...always use the transfer tape.  (If you look close you can see tears and wrinkles in the vinyl.)  Oh well, it's just for me to look an and not anyone else.  I can live with it!  

MPS challenge #3: Thinking outside the box

For this challenge we were to use something new or different on our projects.  I recently bought this super cute green swirly packing tape at Michaels.  If you know me, I love green and I love swirls, so this was a match made in heaven!  So, here is my packing tape card:

MPS challenge #2: Getting scrappy

This challenge was easy.  The requirement was to use some scraps.  I made this album with all the paper scraps left over from challenge #1.  I scored and bound the pages with the brads.  It makes a super cute mini album!

My Pink Stamper challenge #1: "Mother Dear I love you so" (Mom...don't look!)

I decided to try out the 12 challenges Robin, aka My Pink Stamper, posed this weekend for National Scrapbook day.  The first theme was "Mother, dear, I love you so."  My mom has always loved these photo boxes, and today I finally got around to making her one.  I'm going up to visit her soon to help her organize her photos...we'll choose some photos together to put in here.  Here it is:

The pages act as the walls of the box and the lid goes on top.  Super fun project, especially now that I have a scoring board! (I have the Martha Stewart one and I'm loving it!!)

My Pink Stamper challenge: Cricut project in pink, green and black

I was feeling a need for some alone time today and this was the perfect opportunity for that.  This project was my first time using layers and shadows on my cricut.  I did this on the gypsy, so I was able to stretch the objects to fit the envelope size I wanted to use for the card.  All of the items are from the Home Decor cart.  Paper is Core'dinations, Bazill, Pink Paislee and Creative Memories.
