For my birthday last month, I decided to keep my camera nearby and capture the little details of the day, especially those things that are yearly rituals. Some are family rituals, some are personal rituals (like eating Lucky Charms). One, my friend birthday party, is possibly a new personal ritual. That is highlighted on the pull out card on the right page.
You should know that I respect birthdays as a special day and try to avoid any chores for the birthday person. Unfortunately, I didn't plan ahead for myself and left lots of chores for that day, like dishes and laundry. And no way around taking the kids to school, either. This mini flip book made out of paint chips and washi tape highlights these less than ideal activities I participated in on my birthday. Pictures are on the backs of the paint chips, journaling on the color side.
